Cohen&Grigsby Intranet Site Internal Intranet site developed for a local Pittsburgh law firm. It serves as an information center for the employees providing access to many internal forms and documents. However, it also contains many applications for better work organization and effectiveness.

It is written primarily in PHP with mySQL, but there is a good portion of Flash actionscripting involved as well as XML/RSS feeds and processing.

Currently working on a redesigned version 2.0.

DU Computer Club Official web page for the Duquesne University Computer Science Club in years 2000 - 2004. It wasn't updated much, except for the content, but it served its purpose. I was also a member of the Computer Science Club in those years.

The page is made entirely in Macromedia Flash and uses a little bit of ActionScript.

Diablo®2 Sample Site This page was made for demonstration purposes only and it only exists for those reasons. It has no affiliation with the official Diablo®2 web site and/or Blizzard® Entertainment.

The page doesn't have much functionality to it and is only suppose to demonstrate some basic HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Also, Adobe Photoshop was heavily used to produce all the graphics on the page.

HealingHeart Yoga Sample Site This page was made for demonstration purposes only and it only exists for those reasons. It has no affiliation with the official Healing Heart Yoga web site and/or Healing Heart Yoga, Inc..

Another example of HTML/CSS/Javascript page only. The site is almost fully functional and it was supposed to become the official site of the folks at Healing Heart Yoga but there was some miscommunication (or rather no communication) and so it never happened.

MTRDS Mapping Temporal Relations of Discussions Software. There are a couple parts to this site. The back end was written in PHP. It parses text files and produces structures that are later translated to XML. The XML is then grabbed by a Flash file that is heavily using ActionScript to process the XML file and render a graphical representation of the text file that was uploaded at the beginning of the process.

Please, for more details about this project see the Research page of this web site.

Online Deskaid System

This was one of the first projects I've done for the Duquesne University when I studied and worked there several years ago. Its purpose was to eliminate the tedious process of a paper-based guest log system and replace it by modern, computer-based online system. There were three types of users to be considered:

  1. The deskaids who are doing the most work and sign people in and out of a building. I built in all the validation tools in the system so that errors like a freshman male signing a non-resident female in after designated visitation hours could be easily avoided. There is, of course, a lot more going on behind the scenes.
  2. The Resident Assistants have the ability to check from any computer (Deskaids are IP validated) who is currently signed-in at their building. This would be useful in situations where an RA finds a strange person wandering around the building and claiming they are signed-in. The RA can just run into first room and check if it's actually true and possibly penalize the resident for allowing their guest to walk around without an escort.
  3. The Administrators obtain reports from Deskaids and Resident Assistants and then follow-up on various issues, manage users of the ODS and perform other administrative tasks.

The Wild Geese

The Wild Geese's website I created in their 2003/2004 season. I was a member of the band, playing the fiddle, for over 2 years. After I left (couldn't tour as much because of work), the site was taken down for obvious reasons.

Again, back-end running on PHP with mySQL and the front-end built in Adobe Photoshop and Flash.
This was a full-blown website, including a Forum, Media or a Control Panel to manage shows and the forum. This demo is stripped down to "bare bones" to only give an idea of what it looked like.

I also designed a bio page for the band that is still, if I'm not mistaken, being used by the band. Just a couple headshots have been replaced...
